#tbt to one of my favorite moments of the 2nd mvt of Jim Kazik’s concerto for trombone 🎶 This performance is from the 2014 American (Eastern) Trombone Workshop, where I was so fortunate to perform with @usarmyband ”Pershing’s Own” 🇺🇸❤️💙 🦅 If you don’t know Kazik’s music, you should!!!

#trombonetuesday It was about 8pm on a long day of recording when I tracked this portion of “Loop D Loop” by @composerjim which is still one of my favorite moments on my debut album #PerspectivesCD 🎶 If you can look past the sweatiness and boat shoes (it was August, after all) you’ll hear the amazing creativity of Jim Stephenson come to life in this fun and frenetic section my students call “The Drone Chase Scene”. The last part of my Korean adventure was a tour to Daegu and Busan with the Yonsei University Wind Orchestra 🇰🇷🎶 I performed Appermont’s “Colors” with the group in two beautiful venues, one of which had hosted the Vienna Phil only a few nights before! It was an amazing experience, full of music, friendship, and wonderful food!!! The fun continues here in Seoul! 🇰🇷 The students from Yonsei University are so kind and generous. I’ve had a great time working with them and EATING with them! 🍜 Had some amazing Korean BBQ last night, which was definitely a highlight. The trombone professor here has clearly asked the students to be diligent about my safety and comfort, so they take selfies wherever we go and send them to him to show that I am safe and happy throughout the day. Our group chat in KakaoTalk is filled with many photos like the ones you see here.
